We have taken a look at the mentioned towns and it all looks amazing.Job opportunities is obviously the most important and we are searching jobs in the professions of dentist and physiotherapist. Therefore we think that the most safe will be to choose a town with at least a population of 30-40.000. Ålesund look absolutely amazing! We are definitely taking Ålesund into consideration. We would probably prefer not going further north than Ålesund because of the distance to Denmark.

We have also had a look at Bergen, which looks really beautiful as well. The pros about Bergen would be that it is a bit closer Denmark, a bigger international airport, and probably more jobs due to the size. But we are very interested in knowing how much we will have to sacrifice in terms of being close to the mountains (skiing, hiking, mountain biking). We would be very interested in hearing some opinions on Bergen and Ålesund in comparison!

Hmmm... Jeg vil foreslå Oslo. Langt fra fjell? Nei, ikke egentlig. Du har fjell i alle retninger. Flyplass med fete destinasjoner. Faktisk et helt OK kvelds-annlegg i byen. Kort vei til til Hemsedal ? under 3 timer. Norefjell ? ca 1,5 time. Hafjell, Kvitfell... Bra jobb-muligheter. Fin by. Flott sommer. Danskeferje... Verdens feteste hovedstad!

Og nei, jeg bor ikke i Oslo...

If you want to have the opportunity to go skiing, climbing or hiking in the mountains on everyday basis, you got to move to Ørsta/Volda.

The two villages are just 10 min travel with car from each other. And they are growing together, with the small, but cosy airport in the middle.

Here we have two ski-lifts wich are open 4 nights a week, in the weekends and holidays, usually from nov/dec to april. The skimountaineering/freeride opportunities are endless. And as mentioned the climate is quite coastal. That means a lot of rain, but can also mean a lot of snow. And also the frequent rain and mild temperatures lead to very stabile conditions when it turns colder. This year we have 2 meters of snow at 600 meters above sea level. 

Everybody needs dentists and physiotherapists. So thats not a problem.

Agh... helt ærlig... Hvis du føler behov for at skrive på engelsk for at kommunikerer, så bør du måske revurderer Norge som mulig immigrations destination...Jeg stod selv i samme situasjon for 10-12 år siden etter flere år i alpene. Jeg endte til slut med at bosette mig i Sogn (SOGN er IKKE det samme som Sogndal!!!). Dine 4 prioriteter kan ikke forenes du fra et dansk perspektiv i Norge, det nærmeste jeg har været på det i Europa er Grenoble i Frankrig...1. pri. = ski = Sogn. BUM
