Friflyt forum Ski Norwegian Snow Conditions ? Jotunheimen in May ?

Hello Fri-Flyt,Apologies for the post in English - but hope you can help.We are planning to visit Norway 3-10th May.Our original plan was to do the "jotunheimen haute route".We liked the idea of multi day tour linking cabins - plus Galdhoiggen and Gliterttind look like nice objectives for some traveling tourist on skis.http://høgrutajotunheimen.no/en/

However... we heard rumor it was a low snow year in this part of Norway ?Certainly Varsom.NO seems to indicate a little less snow (70-90%)Though the web cams currently look snowy.http://www.varsom.no/en/Snow-avalanche/Jotunheimen/Any advice or thoughts much appreciated!Of course it is impossible to predict the weather....However is May currently looking too late for Jotunheimen this year ? Perhaps we might be better going elsewhere in Norway ?

Less snow than normal and the north/east part extreme little. Comparing with last year, when we had a lot more snow than normal in May/June, dos not give a rightful picture. The ?normal season? for the trip is March/April.

Planning the same trip at the same week. Snow conditions/depths right now is perhaps a little below average but still ok. But it is the weatherconditions in April that decides how it will turn out in May. In April it may snow lots of fresh powder, with strong winds and heavy rain a lot will melt off, or with sunny days and cold nights, turn the snow into ice. So we?ll just have to wait and see, but I hope we meet up there!
